Ejection Pod is one of Prometheus' escape crafts, they are in service for Weyland-Yutani, a craft used as a means of departure from Prometheus in the film 'Prometheus'. These are 'Class A' individual crew ejection pods, and there are 8 Ejection Pods aboard USCSS Prometheus.

Before crashing into the Derelict with Prometheus, Vickers uses an Ejection Pod for her escape as she disagreed in dying as a way of stopping the Terraformer and Derelict. Quickly dressing into a spacesuit before ejecting and landing not far from were the Derelict was to descend, after landing she and Shaw starting running as the Derelict had impacted and was rolling in their direction.
Ejection Pods are situated, 3 on either side on deck level 2 and 2 aft, the Ejection Pod Deck also contains an area for space suits. In early concepts the USCSS Prometheus was called the USCSS Magellan and these Ejection Pods were situated 3 on either side in the bridge.
Control of the Ejection Pods are situated on a panel in front and on the inside, once a suited crew member enters and launches, the door slides and seals a crew member in and detaches and is controlled in flight for a short journey to the surface.
Filming on set and on location occurred in Pinewood Toronto Studios, Toronto, Shepperton Studios in Surrey, Landmannalaugar, Iceland and Ciudad de la Luz audio visual complex in Alicante, Spain were sets of the interior and exterior including the cargo bays, landing struts, Ejection Pods and Escape Craft were produced, green screens allowed superimposing of the CGI environment with filming added later by FX.
Filming from Landmannalaugar, Iceland was blended with the CGI of the Derelict as it rolled along the surface as the Ejection Pod with Vickers lands and then with Shaw the two run away trying to avoid being killed.
MPC (Moving Picture Company) worked with Scott and Stammers on action sequences, the space travel shots and shots of the planet's atmosphere with cloud formations and electrical storms adding Prometheus' landing sequence, including the crash of the USCSS Prometheus and the Derelict as it sets off for Earth and the Escape Craft and Ejection Pod as they are ejected before impact.
